Jungwon says that ENHYPEN’s unity is more important than awards and recognition

Jungwon claimed, "I only became who I am because of ENHYPEN"

During a recent interview, ENHYPEN‘s Jungwon says that the group’s unity is more important than awards and recognition, moving fans with his heartfelt confessions about his bond with the group.

The K-Pop idol recently made an special appearnace at Lee Young Ji‘s YouTube show ‘I Have Nothing To Show‘, where openly talk about the status of the boy group’s contract renewals, his career and the most important thing for their career.

Amid their talk, Jungwon recalled Super Junior’s speech at last year’s MAMA Awards, where they said, “We used to think that receiving awards and recognition was important in our careers. But it turns out, the most important thing is to protect the team for as long as possible.”

ENHYPEN reflected about those words and said, “I think they were right. In the end, what matters is surviving,” assuring that this is something that only artists who debuted under a group can understand.

The leader of the boy group continues revealing that the positive things of being in a group are many and also that he gets much energy from having members and even revealed that their support and company are the reason for his career. “I could never have come this far on my own. That’s a fact.”

“One of the reasons that I’ve been in this career for this long, this career of being an idol, is because I loved the people around me. My hyungs, and the staff at the rookie development team. I loved that community, and so that is why I’m trying to take care of my people.”

Jungwon even revealed that he did not see himself making a solo career without the members: “I know this might sound fake, but I’ve never personally thought of a career for myself alone. Because we all started out together” and concluded:

“I think it’s essential to always remember, ‘There is no me without the team.’ If that belief is broken, then the team is over.”
