Through a recent statement, it was announced that J.Y. Park will step down from his position as an internal director at JYP Entertainment and will focus on his artistic career.
On March 10th, Korean media reports shared JYP Entertainment’s official statement announcing the popular figure of the company will leave his role at the company’s creative and directive board after its foundation 29 years ago.
“J.Y. Park will not seek re-election as CEO at the shareholders’ meeting on March 26.
He plans to focus on his creative activities as an artist, supporting emerging artists and developing new external initiatives for the K-pop industry.
Since his debut in the music industry in 1994, Park has been active as a singer, songwriter, and producer and will continue his various initiatives within the K-pop industry.”
With this notice, J.Y. Park announces that although he will leave JYP Entertainment corporately, he will remain as an artist at the agency and will continue leaving his mark as an important figure in the K-Pop industry.
