During a recent press conference, i-dle‘s Soyeon shares the story of her alter ego Icebluerabbit exposing a whole new facet of her as an artist with many talents.
On July 6th, the girl group attended a media showcase for their 9th mini-album, ‘WE MADE,’ in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, where the leader was asked about this new stage name and her experience working under this alter ego:
“I wanted to take on a completely new challenge, moving away from the style I usually pursue, which is ‘hot, loves yellow, and loves cats’.”
Soyeon talks about the difference between Jeon Soyeon and icebluerabbit:
“As Jeon Soyeon I pursued things that were stimulating and catchy, but compared to that, (icebluerabbit) is music that is easier to listen to or can be enjoyed without thinking.” pic.twitter.com/H1t3GjLE75

While working on ‘Mono,’ released in January this year, she discovered, “I was originally the type who preferred provocative music,” but with the new alias, she has tried different things, and that has made the difference in her style:
“I started making music that is more comfortable and easy to listen to, something you can enjoy without much thought. That’s the biggest difference.”
Soyeon concluded, revealing that this new identity has eventually become a more integral part of herself, and “Now, I think even that (comfortable) music is a complete part of who I am,” explaining that this experiment expanded her musical talent.
Recently i-dle has been preparing to release their album ‘WE MADE’ on July 6 at 6 PM KST, a 5-song mini album led by the title track ‘Gimme That Love,’ which debuted along with its music video.
