HYBE officially debuted a new girl group named TUIDE on August 24, 2026, with the release of their first EP, TUNE & PLAY. The seven-member team is the first group launched by ABD (A Bold Dream), a new HYBE subsidiary focused on girl groups. TUIDE includes members Seohee, Seoyeon, Elena, Jia, Saki, Seah, and Yi Hani. The group’s name comes from the phrase “tune the tide.”
The members introduced themselves and the album during a press event at YES24 Live Hall in Seoul. Seah said she was excited to finally achieve her dream of debuting, while Elena explained that her interest in R&B helped shape the style she wants to show. Saki, a Japanese member, said she had dreamed of debuting in Korea since childhood. Meanwhile, Seoyeon also attracted considerable attention before debuting, as she is the younger sister of TWICE member Jihyo.
ABD has described TUIDE’s sound as “soultronic,” which is a combination of soul and electronic music. The five-track EP also includes influences from R&B, house, and U.K. garage, with songs titled: “ABD,” “SUN KISS,” “Echo,” “Flip Flop Girl,” and “GRLS.” Production duo GroovyRoom took charge of producing the whole project. “Echo” also interpolates Janet Jackson’s 2001 song “All for You,” giving the group another recognizable musical connection to one of pop’s biggest icons during their debut.
