The “Kpop Demon Hunters” fictional girl group, HUNTR/X’s has overtaken the competition in the United States with their title track, “Golden.” The girls are breaking major records in the territory, including TLC’s “Waterfalls” record.
“Golden” has topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight consecutive weeks, surpassing TLC’s “Waterfalls” to become the girl group song with the second-longest No. 1 run ever. Now, the girls are aiming for Destiny’s Child’s “Independent Women Part I,” record, which held the top spot for 11 weeks in 2000 and 2001.
Additionally, “Golden” has tied he record for the eighth-longest No. 1 run for a film song in Hot 100 history. There’s no doubt that HUNTR/X’s promotions in the United States are paying off, as the Grammys nominations are just around the corner, the song seems to be unstoppable.
