Okay, Heartstopper lovers, get ready! Alice Oseman, Heartstopper’s graphic novel author, just gave a major announcement this May: volume six of the series has its draft finished. This will be the last installment of the series.
The announcement came hot on the heels of volume 5, which hit shelves in December. This installment saw Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring, played by Kit Connor and Joe Locke in the Netflix adaptation, taking their relationship to a new height.
In the volume, the two lovebirds navigate their sexuality and discuss having their first time. Moreover, the rest of the characters also talk about virginity and having sex. Things also take a little bit of a dramatic turn, with Nick going to university and Charlie having one more year of school left. The author said:
“Nick and Charlie [are] both heading towards the end of their school journey, and Nick is about to leave and go to university. So, the question is: what is their relationship going to be like when they’re not at school together any more? Are they going to be OK?”
Despite the Heartstopper graphic novel being in its final draft, there is still plenty of content to come. The author still has to draw the comic, which will take her until late 2025. Then the volume will be dropped and it will eventually be adapted for Netflix.
