After years of being on hiatus, G-Dragon recalled how nervous he was to return to the different South Korean variety shows after the idol was highly involved in a drug controversy that turned out to be fake.
On August 22 KST, the YouTube channel l DdeunDdeun released a new episode of the web variety show “Pinggyego”, titled ‘Anniversary Is Just an Excuse’ along with the participation of G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung.
The host brought up G-Dragon’s previous appearance on tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block.”: “You came on ‘You Quiz on the Block’ and met me there. I’ve known you for quite a long time, but I can’t forget the G-Dragon I saw on ‘You Quiz on the Block’.”
G-Dragon explained it was his first appearance in seven years, so he recalled how nervous he was after such a long break. However, his participation drew particular attention after the drug allegations that had surrounded him the previous year. The police investigated him, analyzed his hair and nail samples, and dismissed the case due to insufficient evidence. Even Daesung commented on the controversy:
“At the time, there were so many comments about your gestures and the way you spoke, so you probably became even more self-conscious.“
