On November 5, 2025, G-Dragon sat down on MBC’s Sohn’s Questions and finally spoke about the storm he went through after false drug allegations in November 2023. The rapper explained that every test came back negative, and the case was dismissed, but he had no real place to say how it felt. He did not want a press conference, and he didn’t want to say he was innocent. The K-pop star felt stuck, even wondering if he should retire, then realizing there was no real reason to leave.
But that introspective time turned into writing. He poured the confusion and frustration into new music, which is why the “POWER” video hits like a statement. When the host Sohn Suk Hee called it an open criticism, he agreed there was a message he needed to deliver. He had survived a scare, and he wanted to show what that survival sounds like.
“All I could do was music. As I started writing again, I found myself channeling those experiences, and it felt like I had ‘found my purpose’—that’s what ‘POWER’ came to mean for me.”
For G-Dragon, the November 2023 incident didn’t define him, as this recent interview showed a songwriter and artist who found purpose again. On the work front, G-Dragon has been promoting his most recent album, “Übermensch,” along with a world tour of the same name. Most recently, the Übermensch World Tour made record-breaking numbers after selling out the Taipei Dome in Taiwan with over 80,000 fans attending the November 1 and 2 concerts.
