BLACKPINK’s much-hyped DEADLINE World Tour just had an intriguing twist, and it hasn’t even started! On June 17, Seoul police arrested a man in his 30s for selling counterfeit concert tickets worth around 80 million KRW. According to MBN News, the scammer was caught red-handed during an undercover operation at a café in Dongjak-gu, where he tried to sell the fakes directly to buyers.

Authorities from Dongjak Police Station revealed they launched the sting after receiving a tip about sketchy ticket sales. Officers noticed red flags like spelling errors and odd formatting on the supposed tickets and traced them to a second-hand resale platform. The man had reportedly pushed out about 500 false entries before being caught. Police are now digging into how he pulled it off, and whether this wasn’t his first scam.

While the fraud drama unfolds, BLACKPINK is gearing up for their anticipated return. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa are finally reuniting this July for their first group activity in nearly three years. Before that, fans can look forward to new music sometime in June, along with a fresh music video and album photoshoot. Fortunately, this scammer wasn’t able to ride the BLACKPINK wave, and fans are still on their tippy toes about the quartet’s comeback.
