EXO prepares to launch REVERXE with a universe comeback
EXO is making their highly anticipated return with the release of their eighth full album titled “REVERXE” on January 19, 2026. According to their concept, REVERXE revisits the group’s long-running universe storyline that first gained attention during their early career. The album title reinterprets the English word reverse with the group’s name and symbolizes the idea of opening a new world tied to EXO’s fictional lore.
Fans around the world have shown their excitement as the album marks the group’s first full comeback in two years and six months since EXIST, which was released in July 2023. Promotions leading up to the project’s release day have included cinematic trailers, public displays in Seoul, and teasers highlighting concepts such as the Total Lunar Eclipse, Black Cloak Legion, Tree of Life, and the members’ superpowers. Unfortunately, this comeback will leave out members Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin, who are currently in a legal battle with their agency, SM Entertainment, and were not allowed to participate in promotions.
Album promotions expand through events and digital content
The main single “Crown” will debut alongside the album on January 19, 2026, followed by a live album showcase at Kyung Hee University’s Peace Hall at 7:30 p.m. The showcase will also stream live on EXO’s YouTube and TikTok channels. In addition to new music, the group has prepared more content: A pop up store named REVERXE THE WORLD opens on January 20 at The Hyundai Seoul and will operate for eight days. New online programs, including Channel Fullmoon Jeon gwaja Jipjeongseong and Minju’s Pink Cabinet will be released across the first part of the year. Fans are also expecting a new season of EXO’s Ladder to World Travel to follow.
Official tour reports give fans even more to anticipate
EXO’s comeback momentum increased after a report was shared on January 16, 2026 through X account About Music, claiming that the group is preparing to begin a concert tour in April. The post quickly spread online and had fans excited to see the group on stage again. Although details about the potential tour have not been confirmed, many believe it will be scheduled for April, following promotional events, preparations, and future announcements.
