After scoring a global hit with “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters, singer-songwriter EJAE is riding high and dreaming even bigger! At the iHeartRadio Music Festival 2025 in Las Vegas, the Korean-American artist opened up about the massive success of the track, which unexpectedly went viral upon release. She admitted she found out while on a flight, only realizing the song had blown up after landing to a flood of fan messages.

EJAE, who is the singing voice of Rumi in KPop Demon Hunters, shared that she wants to keep building on the momentum by honing her songwriting and collaborating with artists she admires. “It was really hard but really fun,” she said of working on the animated Netflix hit. As for dream collabs, she didn’t hesitate: BLACKPINK’s Lisa tops the list! She also dropped names like Doja Cat, Raye, and Maroon 5, showing her range of musical ambitions.

Though many only know her now as a breakout star, EJAE has been working behind the scenes for years. She’s written and produced tracks for Red Velvet (Psycho, Birthday), aespa (Drama), Suzy, KARD, and more. Her latest credit? Contributing to NMIXX’s upcoming album with the track O.O Part 2 (Superhero), which was originally released in 2022 as one song, but will be split into two for the group’s first full album.
