The “Kpop Demon Hunters” phenomenon stays strong in the United States. EJAE, the composer-singer of “Golden,” has opened up about the success of Netflix’s animated film and the personal emotions behind the popular song.

On October 19, AJAE appeared on JTBC’s “Newsroom” to talk about the positive repercussions “Golden” brought to her rising Kpop career. She stated, “It still feels like a dream. I always wanted to make a hit song, but I didn’t think it would come this quickly. I love watching the challenge videos on social media — seeing dads dancing in Rumi outfits makes me so happy.”

The now-idol also shared that recording the title track for “Kpop Demon Hunters” was deeply personal for her. She confessed she cried a lot while recording the demo for the song, as she was struggling at the time, and put her story into the song, relating to Rumi’s character’s story:

“The song gave me confidence and hope.”
