BTS members reveal the real reason they didn’t perform at the 2026 AMAs

BTS members demonstrate their true priority amidst their tour

After their long-awaited and successful appearance at the 2026 AMAs, BTS members reveal the real reason they didn’t attend the red carpet and perform at the event.

Last night, May 25th, the boy group was awarded and celebrated for their recent comeback with their album ‘ARIRANG,’ taking home three AMAs awards for the most prestigious categories of the ceremony: ‘Song of the Summer,’ ‘Artist of the Year,’ and ‘Best Male K-Pop Act.’

Later, the boys went live through Weverse to celebrate with fans and share more details of this night, including the real reason they didn’t attend the red carpet and didn’t perform at the event, which their fans were excitedly waiting for.

RM was the first to talk about and mention this during his live: “We have to talk about this—the reason why we didn’t perform and attend the red carpet. Actually right after we finished the two shows, my throat got really sore.”

Jin continued explaining that they have “to complete the rest of the shows too,” demonstrating that their tour is their priority, as the leader added, “So since we were not in good condition, we decided to do as much as we could.”

The oldest member also revealed that some of them “are still having jet lag.” Suga even teased him, saying, “Seokjin hyung has still not adjusted to the time difference,” and he defended himself, explaining, “My jet lag gets better once I sleep for about 12 hours, but I just cannot sleep…”

Jimin revealed Jungkook and he have been experiencing the same, and Jin concluded, “I’ve never experienced something like this. My eyes were puffed in the morning because I couldn’t sleep.”

On social networks, fans support the boys’ decision since their health and own projects are the priority, even when they are soon returning to Korea to continue their tour with special performances for their 13th debut anniversary in Busan.
