Rosé receives major recognition at the BRIT Awards

BLACKPINK’s Rosé made history on February 28, 2026, when she won Best International Song at the BRIT Awards 2026. The “Number One Girl” singer became the first KPop act to take home a trophy at the United Kingdom’s biggest music awards ceremony. Her collaboration with Bruno Mars, “APT.”, earned the win in a stacked category. The other nominees included Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild,” KPop Demon Hunters’ “Golden,” and 11 other international hits. This award now marks an important step for Korean artists breaking through Western music markets.

Visibly emotional, Rosé accepted the award in person while wearing an asymmetric black gown and jewelry from Tiffany and Co., where she serves as a global ambassador. During her speech, the “On the Ground” singer thanked her fans, her collaborators, and the team behind her music. She also mentioned her BLACKPINK bandmates and Teddny, the main producer responsible for shaping the group’s signature sound. Rose’s significant awards came one day after BLACKPINK returned with their new mini-album “DEADLINE,” adding to the excitement around the group’s members.

“I would like to give a shoutout to BLACKPINK,” Rosé added, eliciting loads of cheers from the crowd. “Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa, I love you guys so much. Thank you for always inspiring me, I love you guys so much. Teddy oppa, I love you so much. Thank you so much, this means so much.”

KPop artists gain increasing visibility at the BRIT Awards

KPop’s presence at the BRIT Awards has grown over the years. BTS was the first KPop act to receive a nomination back in 2021 for International Group of the Year and were nominated again in 2022. In 2023, BLACKPINK became the first female KPop group to receive a nomination in the same category. At the 2026 ceremony, KPop Demon Hunters’ HUNTR/X, consisting of EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, received nominations for International Group of the Year and International Song of the Year, competing against Rosé. They also performed their song “Golden,” reflecting the genre’s new reach.
