On October 22, 2025, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo gave fans a surprising treat by sitting down with Vanity Fair for a one-of-a-kind interview where she answered revealing questions while creating a sculpture of herself. The video, uploaded to Vanity Fair’s official YouTube channel, showed the “Your Love” singer in full creative mode, shaping her “turtle rabbit” (a nod to her nickname Turtle Rabbit Kim). She explained that it was born during a trip to Turtle Bay, Hawaii, when she jokingly combined “Rabbit Kim” with “Turtle” because she wanted a longer, quirkier name.

“Turtle Rabbit Kim came about when we were in Turtle Bay, Hawaii, with the members. Because the other members spent time overseas, they all had middle names, and I didn’t have one. So I kind of just said I’m Rabbit, Rabbit Kim. Then I added Turtle because I wanted to make my name longer.” She said, “And since rabbit and turtle seemed like opposites, I thought it would be fun to have them together.”

During the interview, the BLACKPINK member opened up about her personality and confessed that her real self and her on-screen image are surprisingly similar. She admitted she’s shy and tends to shrink in awkward situations, sometimes staying quiet or expressing a soft “haha” laughter.

“Honestly, my real self and my onscreen self are very similar. I’m surprisingly shy around others. Sometimes in really awkward situations, I tend to shrink. I grow very quiet and small.”

She also revealed that she often feels more alive when she’s alone. Instead of having long chats with other people, Jisoo enjoys spending her time thinking and reflecting by herself.

“I think I’m busier when I’m alone, compared to when I’m talking with other people. I would ask and answer things in my own head. When I’m talking to other people, I would run out of things to say and go quiet, or we’d just be on our phones on our own.”
