BLACKPINK confirmed that a new era will begin for the group with the release of their third mini-album on February 27, 2025. The announcement was made on January 14, 2026, through the group’s official social media accounts. Fans have been waiting for a new full-group project since the members spent time working on individual projects in 2024 and 2025. With this news, the group officially returns to music, following their tour and their individual careers.
The upcoming mini-album is titled “Deadline,” which is the same name as the group’s 2025-2026 world tour. The Deadline World Tour began on July 5 and July 6, 2025, at the Goyang Sports Complex in South Korea and has visited countries across North America, Europe, and Asia since last year. It is expected to wrap up with the final dates in South Korea and Japan in January 2026. In addition, the concerts marked the first time all four members have performed together since 2023 with the Born Pink World Tour.
BLACKPINK has not yet shared the number of songs or the full concept of the mini-album. However, expectations are already high because the members have described the work as powerful and fresh in previous interviews. Before announcing the Deadline mini-album, the quartet reunited to release the single “Jump” on July 11, 2025. Meanwhile, the group members focused on their solo careers throughout 2024 and part of 2025. Rosé released her album “rosie,” Jennie made her acting debut on “The Idol” and released “Ruby,” Lisa dropped “Alter Ego” and played Mook in The White Lotus, and Jisoo starred in “Newtopia” and published the “AMORTAGE” mini-album.
