aespa’s Winter is dazzling fans with a different side of her voice, thanks to the release of her new summer single, “Speed of Summer.” The track arrived on Thursday, August 27, as part of a seasonal project from digital media channel Dingo. Moving away from the dance-pop and electronic sound associated with her work on aespa, Winter explores an alternative punk-rock style and delivers a different vocal performance.
According to the track’s description, “Speed of Summer” captures the feeling of freedom during a fast-paced summer night. The song follows the excitement of moving forward with the radio playing at full volume and uses pop-rock sonic touches to create a different atmosphere from Winter’s previous solo releases and her sound in aespa. Her clean and powerful high vocals remain an important part of the song, but the new musical direction allows her to expand her range as a solo artist.
Until now, Winter’s individual projects have mainly highlighted her delicate and warm vocals through drama soundtracks and collaborations. Meanwhile, aespa began their fourth international tour, Synk: Complexity, in Seoul earlier this month. The group will perform in São Paulo on September 4, 2026, before continuing with three more concerts in Latin America and ten additional shows across North America.
