During a recent live stream, aespa‘s Winter reveals the heartbreaking origin story of her new dog, moving all fans by proving her kind heart by adopting this puppy who was at risk of being sent to a breeding facility.
On June 18th, the singer revealed she has a new pet through her Instagram stories by sharing sweet photos of a little puppy playing and sleeping around, moving many fans and sparking speculations that the purebred-looking pup may have been purchased from a pet shop.
However, on June 23rd she went live through Weverse and talked about how she got Ponyo from a shelter where she heard the dog went through an auction “but no one took her, and she was at risk of being sent to a breeding facility.”

The idol continued saying that when that happened, the shelter intervened and brought her. It was there that she met Ponyo and heard her story, which moved her to the point of taking her home with the feeling they were destined to meet.
“Humans really should feel sorry; humans should be ashamed… such a tiny little baby… That’s right, she was destined to meet me.”
