aespa will release “WDA” with G-Dragon ahead of their second album

The quartet will team up with G-Dragon for a pre-release track

aespa is preparing to begin a new album era with the release of “WDA (Whole Different Animal),” a pre-release single featuring rapper G-Dragon. SM Entertainment confirmed that the track will be released on May 11, 2026. This song will come before aespa releases their second full album, “Lemonade,” on May 29, 2026. The collaboration has drawn attention because it brings together one of K-pop’s most recognized veteran artists and one of the genre’s leading fourth-generation girl groups.

The upcoming track is described as a hip-hop-based dance song with heavy synth bass, strong hooks, and lyrics that reflect aespa’s growth as a group. SM Entertainment said G-Dragon not only appears as a featured artist, but also has writing credits on his own rap verse. The song is expected to introduce a new era in aespa’s fictional lore, which has been a core part of the quartet’s identity since their debut in 2020.

The girl group has also released a teaser for the “WDA” music video through their official YouTube channel on May 7, 2026, sparking fan excitment. The teaser shows the members in a mysterious setting with a darker and more intense atmosphere. “Lemonade” will have 10 songs across different genres, including “WDA.” This project will mark aespa’s first full-length release in about two years, following “Armageddon” in May 2024. Pre-orders are now available through online and offline music retailers in a variety of physical CD formats.
