A few hours ago, AESPA members Karina and Ningning made history with their debut at the Met Gala 2026, leaving their mark on the fashion industry.
On May 4th, the Korean singers attended the most important fashion event, becoming the first 4th generation female K-Pop idols to attend and the second ones in the generation after Stray Kids’ appearance last year.
Karina: Wore a traditional custom hanbok-inspired Prada look, a white satin dress, and a black cape featuring an array of details from both the brand’s and South Korea’s histories as well as a traditional hairstyle decorated with jewelry hairpins inspired by Korean ornaments.
Ningning: Sported a custom Gucci design that stood out for its drama and structure in a stunning black dress with overlapping layers focused on fashion as sculpture, using architectural lines and complex textures to represent the theme of that year’s “Costume Art.”
Although the girls are part of the same musical group, AESPA, they made separate entrances to the event representing their respective brands for which they are ambassadors, making a great impact on their culture and their musical genre, which are increasingly receiving more attention globally.
