In its statement, the agency acknowledged that the enlistment may affect the group's plans. Lee Know may be unable to take part in some of the activities scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. JYP did not specify which activities could be affected or give an exact enlistment date. The company added that, before he enlists, Lee Know will continue to connect with fans through various content and individual activities.
The notice also thanked STAY for their continued support and asked fans to keep backing both Lee Know and the group.
With this announcement, Lee Know becomes the first Stray Kids member to enlist in the military. He was born on October 25, 1998, which makes him the oldest of the group's Korean members. South Korea requires men to complete military service, which typically lasts around 18 months depending on the branch.
His absence will be the most significant change to the lineup since the group debuted in 2018 and built an active international career.
No other member has announced an enlistment date as of November 5. Based on birth years, the remaining Korean members will face the same obligation in the coming years. Changbin was born in 1999. Hyunjin, Han and Seungmin were born in 2000, and I.N was born in 2001. JYP has not shared any schedules for them.
Bang Chan and Felix hold Australian citizenship and are generally considered exempt from South Korea's mandatory military service.
JYP has said it will share additional details when they become available. Until then, the group's official channels remain the main source of information on Lee Know's final activities before enlistment and on how Stray Kids will handle its schedule during his service.
