The XG member celebrates their birthday with a heartfelt revelation

XG’s Cocona celebrated their 20th birthday on December 6, 2025, with a message that shook the internet in the most meaningful way. In a heartfelt social media post, the XG member shared that they are AFAB transmasculine non-binary and that embracing this truth has been a long and emotional journey. Cocona revealed that earlier in the year, they underwent top surgery and finally feel aligned with who they truly are inside. An AFAB transmasculine non-binary person is someone who was assigned female at birth, but identifies with an identity that leans towards masculinity in a non-binary way. Later than the same day, Cocona explained that they feel comfortable with the pronouns they/them and he/him.

“As I reach this new chapter in my life, I want to share something that’s been in my heart for a long time. I am AFAB transmasculine non-binary. Earlier this year, I had top surgery. I was born and perceived as female, but that label never represented who I truly am.”

Fellow XG members and their manager share their support

In their letter, the artist thanked their fellow XG members, the founder of XGALX Simon known as Jakops, and their family for giving them support during their process. Fans around the world responded with love, celebrating Cocona’s honesty and courage. The post included symbols of unity and infinity and concluded with a tender wish that their message lights a spark in the hearts of anyone who needs it.

Following the announcement, Simon shared his own Instagram statement supporting Cocona and expressing admiration for their bravery. He reminded fans that XG’s mission has always included honoring the true selves of each member. The manager and founder expressed that he will continue to support each member so that they can be respected as artists and people.
