Okay, movie lovers, it’s tea time! “The Marvels<\/strong>” premiered yesterday, November 10, in the United States. Despite all the hype surrounding the film, protagonist Brie Larson<\/strong> going on “The Tonight Show,” and the actors and writers’ strike ending, it looks like the most recent Marvel project won’t make that juicy splash at the box office<\/strong>. At least that’s what predictions are pointing out for the movie’s first weekend in the United States.<\/p>\n

So, what are the numbers? We’re talking a meh 47 million<\/strong> to 52 million<\/strong> dollars for its opening weekend. While these numbers are far from being a huge flop, they do represent the lowest ever for Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe. To make it even worse, other movies with minor budgets and a little less pop-culture impact, such as “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” totally outsold with an 80 million dollar opening weekend.<\/p>\n

Amid these predictions, fans and the media have tried to find out the reasons why “The Marvels” isn’t giving off that cinematic smash vibe. Some are blaming it on Disney’s<\/strong> overdoing it with the Marvel brand. The company has been blasting everybody with the superhero content on its streaming platform, causing a potential burnout. Then, there’s the Ms. Marvel series, which some viewers think is not a crowd-puller for “The Marvels.”<\/p>\n

Finally, others have decided to put the blame on the actors and writers’ strike<\/strong>. That’s right, with this protest, Disney was totally cuffed and couldn’t promote the movie big time, like it usually does with its major superhero releases. Still, some others think that there’s got to be something else here, as other films have been a total smash. Yes, even with the previous strike that left Hollywood shook.<\/p>\n
