Shakira<\/strong> was the center of attention at the MTV Video Music Awards 2023<\/strong> last Tuesday. The award show took place at the Prudential Center in New Jersey, United States on September 12, and it celebrated music from all across the globe, especially Shakira’s.<\/p>\n

The singer was honored with the Video Vanguard Award,<\/strong> which has been given to artists for their legacy<\/strong> and contribution<\/strong> to music videos and popular culture. In addition to that, Shakira also performed<\/strong> a 10-minute medley<\/strong> of her hits that made the audience go wild, and received another award for “TQG,”<\/em> <\/strong>her song with fellow Colombian artist Karol G.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Shakira was certainly at the forefront of the ceremony, with her name being on everybody’s mouth, including that of American comedian<\/strong> Tiffany Haddish.<\/strong> The woman has gone viral on X (formerly known as Twitter) for all the wrong reasons.<\/p>\n

It turns out that the comedian followed<\/strong> and shouted<\/strong> Shakira’s name with the intention of getting a picture with her. The videos that had been posted across social media show Haddish photobombing<\/strong> the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer in different moments, but Shakira did not respond negatively to the behavior the comedian had.<\/p>\n

However, reactions from fans have been the total opposite<\/strong>, with some of them expressing that Haddish harassed Shakira<\/strong> at the MTV Video Music Awards 2023. They quickly affirmed that she kept photobombing the artist all night long and posted memes mocking Haddish<\/strong> due to her conduct.<\/p>\n

Amid of the backlash, the woman took her own X<\/strong> profile to respond<\/strong> to these allegations<\/strong> regarding her actions in the award show. She did not seem to be willing to apologize,<\/strong> but rather came across as defensive, saying on Friday:<\/p>\n
