The mini-album was well received in South Korea and managed to sell<strong> 1.65 million copies<\/strong> in its debut week in the local market. As a result, it debuted at <strong>number two<\/strong> in the South Korean chart.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to domestic success, the girl group composed by <strong>Hanni<\/strong>, <strong>Danielle<\/strong>, <strong>Minji<\/strong>, <strong>Hyein<\/strong> and <strong>Haerin<\/strong>, was able to <strong>top the Billboard 200 chart<\/strong> on Wednesday, August 2 local time. The chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the <strong>United States<\/strong> based on album units sold. Last week, predictions estimated that NewJeans would have their album debuting at number two, but fortunately for the group and their fan base, it managed to climb to the first place with <strong>126.5k units sold<\/strong>. The Barbie soundtrack obtained place number two with 126k units sold.<\/p>\n<p>This definitely marks a <strong>milestone<\/strong> both for NewJeans as a group and for K-pop in general.
