Disney<\/strong> Pixar\u2019s latest movie \u2018Elemental\u2019<\/em><\/strong> had an underwhelming performance after its opening weekend on June 22, 2023, and it was quickly deemed one of the studios\u2019 biggest failures<\/strong>. However, the movie is showing incredible legs at the box office due to the good word of mouth, bouncing back and proving the haters wrong<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Over the past few years, both Disney and Pixar have struggled<\/strong> to score a hit at the box office. Although the COVID-19 pandemic is in part to blame, the general audiences and movie critics have also expressed their discontent<\/strong> with the quality of the movies that they have put out which might also explain their poor<\/strong> performance at the box office.<\/p>\n

\u2018Elemental\u2019 was not the exception and social media was flooded with comments criticizing<\/strong> the movie shortly after its release. Most of the comments called out the movie\u2019s \u201cforced inclusivity\u201d<\/em> and were expecting it to be Disney Pixar\u2019s latest flop<\/strong>. However, the movie is quickly becoming a box office juggernaut<\/strong> and has even broken several records.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, it was reported that \u2018Elemental\u2019 now holds the record for the highest-grossing Disney animated film since \u201cFrozen 2\u201d<\/em> which was released in 2019<\/strong>. As of today, the movie has grossed $263 million worldwide<\/strong> and even surpassed other movies like \u2018Encanto\u2019<\/strong><\/em>, proving the haters wrong and becoming a huge success for Disney and Pixar.<\/p>\n
