Prince William<\/strong> has been actively working on his charity projects with the intention of improving his public image. His most recent project, \u2018Homewards\u2019<\/em>, was inspired by the late Princess Diana and its purpose is to eradicate<\/strong> homelessness in the United Kingdom. However, several people have deemed him a \u201chypocrite\u201d<\/strong><\/em> for trying to help those in need.<\/p>\n

Although the Prince of Wales has been involved in several charity projects throughout the years, there is a small portion of the British population that believe William only gets involved in this kind of project to increas<\/strong>e his own popularity<\/strong> in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

Republic<\/strong>, an anti-monarchist group, released a statement through Yahoo U.K. where they publicly called out William\u2019s hypocrisy: \u201cThe royals spend hundreds of millions a year on themselves. Until they sort that out this kind of thing is hypocritical nonsense<\/strong>. As with Earthshot, this is a small project blown out of proportion by palace PR and the media. It will not tackle homelessness.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

In addition, historian Dr. Ed Owens also shared his opinion on the matter on Twitter and discussed the complexity<\/strong> of the situation:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe impact of this kind of royal philanthropy is also more complex than it at first seems. Whilst on the surface William’s plans seem admirable<\/strong>, they are also profoundly political<\/strong> and speak to much deeper failings within Britain to properly address the social ill of homelessness.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/figure>\n \n

Despite this, it looks like Prince William will not pay attention to the criticism<\/strong> as he is fully committed to honoring Princess Diana\u2019s legacy by helping those in need. On top of that, it is expected that his different charity projects are successful<\/strong> and have a lot of impact<\/strong> in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
