Taylor Swift<\/strong> is in the middle of the American leg of her biggest tour yet. Last weekend, a drunk driver ran<\/strong> over a young fan of the singer who was returning home after the concert. Jacob Lewis and his sister, April Bancfrot, were in the middle of the road after their car broke down, and Lewis had to push the car to the shore.<\/p>\n

Alan Bryant Hayes, the driver who was under the effects<\/strong> of alcohol, swerved sharply and hit Lewis with his black Volkswagen Beetle. The 34 years old man decided to leave the place as soon as possible which lead to Lewis dying at the scene of the accident<\/strong> according to police records.<\/p>\n

The Houston Police Department captured<\/strong> Alan shortly after he escaped from the scene and was accused of three serious crimes, driving while intoxicated, not stopping to provide assistance, and manslaughter.<\/p>\n

Despite the unfortunate accident, the victim\u2019s father, Steve Lewis revealed to USA Today that the last moments of his son alive were a representation of who he really was, “His last act was to push his sister to safety on a dark street. He was a bright light<\/strong>… touched so many people. We’re all struggling with this loss.”\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Jacob\u2019s mother also addressed the situation saying that Lewis was a great fan of video games and music: “Jacob was an amazing young man. Everyone says he gave the best hugs. He towered over everyone at 6 foot 5 inches but never made anyone feel small. He made sure to include everyone<\/strong> and was accepting of them for who they were. He came alive on stage. Performing and singing were everything to him. It gave him such joy.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Jacob\u2019s sister also spoke on Twitter about the accident:<\/p>\n

\u201cI cannot even describe<\/strong> the pain I feel at this moment for the loss of my brother. We loved you so much\u00a0 @taylorswift13. Thank you for making this our last memory together #JacobLewis.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/figure>\n \n

After Lewis\u2019 death went viral, Taylor Swift fans helped the family by raising<\/strong> over $100,000 in donations. However, Swift has not released any statement regarding Lewis\u2019 tragic accident and her fans are waiting for her to give some words of encouragement to the family.<\/p>\n
