In the months since the death of Queen Elizabeth II<\/strong>, Kate Middleton’s life has been a succession of “firsts”. Today was no different, as she carried out a historic engagement on the occasion of St. Patrick’s Day.<\/p>\n

Kate visited Ireland for the first time since being made a Colonel. She was accompanied by her husband, Prince William<\/strong>, who is the outgoing Colonel of the Irish Guards. Following a recent visit to the 1st Battalion of the Irish Guards on Salisbury Plain, this week, the Princess made her debut on parade as Colonel of the Regiment.<\/p>\n

Elegant as ever despite the wind and rain, Kate Middleton<\/strong> appeared in a spectacular green ensemble in a nod to style as tradition dictates. She paired a long teal coat with matching heels and a wide-brimmed hat and snood. She topped off her ensemble with a bouquet of green flowers pinned to her lapel.<\/p>\n
