The member of the female girl group of the moment, BLACKPINK<\/strong>, has been making negative tabloids<\/strong> in the South Korean<\/strong> press after her \u201csexualized\u201d<\/strong> attitude<\/strong> in the stage of the United Stage tour goes viral, more specifically, the \u201ctwerk\u201d<\/strong> she\u2019s done in front of the audience.<\/p>\n

There are some unspoken conduct rules<\/strong> that all the members of the Kpop<\/strong> music must adhere to in order to maintain a clean, positive image in the public\u2019s eye, which includes, but is not limited to, the prohibition of dating, not voicing any political opinion, and keeping an excellent conduct above anything, after all ,they are called \u201cidols\u201d<\/strong> for a reason.<\/p>\n

Since the South Korean culture is quite conservative<\/strong>, it\u2019s not common to see Kpop singers acting too sexy, or having an oversexualized dance choreography, the lyrics also cannot contain a lot of sexual metaphors. That, however, has not stopped BLACKPINK<\/strong> from making music with such approach. Their hit single \u201cIce Cream\u201d<\/strong> talks about their desire for a cone of ice cream but making it clear that they are actually referring to the intimate parts of a man with multiple metaphors in the lyrics, such as: \u201cI\u2019m nice with the cream, if you know what I mean\u201d. <\/strong><\/em>Yes, we know what you mean.<\/p>\n

This time, it\u2019s been Ros\u00e9<\/strong> who has broken the rule of the \u201coutstanding\u201d behavior<\/strong> by doing the \u201ctwerk\u201d<\/strong> dance on the stage of some of \u00a0BLACKPINK<\/strong>\u2019s concerts. The twerk consists of shaking the buttocks imitating the movement you would do while thrusting in a sexual intercourse, hence why this dance in particular is considered to be heavily sexual.<\/p>\n

Ros\u00e9 was actually asked by a fan to do the dance, she carried a sign that read “Rosie Throw It Back\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, which is another way to refer to twerking. The phrase is not new to the \u201cGone\u201d<\/strong> singer, in fact, a few years ago, in the middle of a live stream on Instagram, Ros\u00e9 received a comment with that same message, to which she responded with a funny \u201cWhat? Am I supposed to twerk?\u201d<\/em><\/strong>, which was a funny anecdote for the fans, but now it\u2019s a reality. The fans seem to be okay with the singer partaking in the dance, but the Korean culture doesn\u2019t seem to be so fond of it and has actually given her a hard time.
