The issue of BTS<\/strong>‘ military enlistment was explained in the recent episode of the investigative program “PD Note<\/strong>“. On May 10, an episode titled “BTS and the Military Service Controversy<\/strong><\/em>” of MBC<\/strong>‘s investigative journalism program “PD Note” aired.<\/p>\n

The program covered the topic of an alternative military service<\/strong> system for artists. Choi Kwang-ho<\/strong>, secretary general of the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA<\/strong>), said:<\/p>\n

“BTS’ Jin can postpone his enlistment until this year, but next year will be the time for him to complete his military service<\/strong><\/em>”<\/p>\n

“Isn’t there a 6-month period for a law to be officially implemented after it is passed? Ultimately, BTS is now in a situation where military service benefits are impossible<\/strong><\/em>“<\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/figure>\n \n

According to the military service law, a member of the National Assembly, Sung Il-jong,<\/strong> told the National Defense Committee on November 25th last year:<\/p>\n

“One<\/strong>\u00a0BTS member must enlist in the military by Dec. 31 this year and if members enlist one after another, BTS will be separated.<\/p>\n

This will cause an identity problem so there will be no more opportunities.<\/p>\n

That is why three people have proposed that it is a good idea to judge good and bad against national advantages, even if we are criticized<\/strong><\/em>“.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/figure>\n \n

Mentioning BTS’ exemption<\/strong> from military service on May 4th, former Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hwang Hee<\/strong> also said:<\/p>\n

“Due to the obligation to perform military service, activities are forced to be suspended. Obviously, this will lead to a national loss<\/strong><\/em>“.<\/p>\n

“I hope the National Assembly will start discussing this issue as soon as possible<\/strong><\/em>“<\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/figure>\n \n
