It updates the story for the social media era and pushes the violence further than the original 1976 film.<\/p>\n<h2>What is Carrie about?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Summer H. Howell<\/strong> stars as Carrie White, a teenager who lives with her mother, Margaret White (<strong>Samantha<\/strong> <strong>Sloyan<\/strong>). She has to start at a new school after her father&#8217;s death. There she becomes the target of cruelty amplified by social media and anonymous trolls.
