According to recent reports, King Charles<\/strong> clarifies Harry<\/strong> and Meghan<\/strong>‘s royal status after their UK return through a letter to informed senior officials across the country.<\/p>\n

On September 7th, the monarch issued a letter through media outlets revealing the Palace have received a “number of requests”<\/strong><\/em> for clarity in the state of the crown now that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have returned.<\/p>\n

The message reiterates that there has been “no change”<\/strong><\/em> in Harry and Meghan’s status since their move back to Britain, maintaining the same position they held when they stepped down from their roles as working members of the Royal Family in 2020.<\/p>\n

“It is well known that in January 2020 the Duke and Duchess stepped down from undertaking representative duties on behalf of the Sovereign and are no longer working Members of The Royal Family. “<\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/figure>\n \n

This letter from King Charles was shared with the Duke of Sussex’s team, stating the Sussex family’s desire to remain private citizens while in the United Kingdom: “Their styles as His and Her Royal Highness remain in abeyance and are not used.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

They also regard the controversial topic of their security, saying “Any specific questions from official and state organisations (…) particularly where recourse to public funds may be required, should be directed to Buckingham Palace.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
