The evidence was presented at the third hearing of a damages lawsuit, which took place on Thursday, July 2, 2026, and involved former member Danielle, her mother, and Min Hee Jin. A key item was an audio recording dated September 2, 2024. ADOR said the recording shows Min telling the members’ parents that NewJeans’ YouTube livestream notifying ADOR of their departure should go ahead, as it could later serve as evidence in a lawsuit to end the quintet’s exclusive contracts. The agency said this version of events conflicts with Min’s earlier statement that she had tried to stop the livestream.

A livestream is linked to later contract disputes

The recording came nine days before NewJeans held their livestream on September 11, 2024. During that broadcast, all five members asked HYBE to restore Min as ADOR’s CEO by September 25, 2024, or they would leave the company. The agency said Min continued to direct the group’s independent activities after the members announced on November 28, 2024, that they were ending their contracts and would promote and rebrand under the name NJZ. The company also said Min supported overseeing preparations for NewJeans’ appearance at ComplexCon Hong Kong after a court injunction in March 2025 blocked the members from doing any entertainment work (live appearances and new songs) without the company’s approval.

The agency presents contract documents and more allegations

ADOR also submitted documents tied to the ComplexCon project, including a performance agreement that it said listed a $500,000 consulting fee for Min. The agency presented another agreement involving AAO, a company linked to ComplexCon organizer Bonnie Chan Woo. According to ADOR, the contract required NewJeans to report both group activity and matters involving the agency to AAO. ADOR said the agreement lasted nine months and would renew automatically unless someone objected.

The agency also alleged that Danielle hid the agreement from the other NewJeans members, although Hanni, Hyein, Minji and Haerin cut ties with AAO in November 2025 to return to the company. Additionally, ADOR claimed that Min Hee Jin urged Danielle and Minji’s parents to make demands the agency could not accept and to secretly record conversations, saying the goal was to build more grounds for ending the members’ contracts.

ADOR says an audio recording supports its claim ADOR presented new evidence to support its claim that NewJeans’ effort to exit the company was guided by former CEO Min Hee Jin.
