During a panel at BookCon in New York City over the weekend, the director appeared alongside Reid and talked about the upcoming season of the series. He confirmed that Season 2 is being written now and will mainly adapt The Long Game, which is book 6 and the direct sequel to Heated Rivalry, book 2. He compared that decision to Season 1, which also used material from another book to help strengthen the main story. Role Model puts the focus on the characters Troy Barrett and Harris Drover, and Tierney said Troy\u2019s emotional struggles will be explored even more deeply in the show. Then, he explained that this season moves away from the early secretive tension between Shane and Ilya and into a more mature story about what happens after the thrill of danger fades and a real relationship begins.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A lot of the initial \u2014 there\u2019s still lots of flirting and lots of sex \u2014 but this kind of danger, this kind of hotel-room-adolescent-sex stuff is largely gone. Still, he recently announced a new behind-the-scenes book, I\u2019ll Believe in Anything, which will be released on October 13, 2026. Meanwhile, <strong>Heated Rivalry Season 2 is expected to film in the summer and premiere in spring 2027 on HBO Max, according to Variety<\/strong>.
