According to Billboard, DEADLINE debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart with 52,000 equivalent album units. The songs are \u201cJUMP,\u201d \u201cGO,\u201d \u201cMe and My,\u201d \u201cChampion,\u201d and \u201cFxxx Boy.\u201d The title track is \u201cGO,\u201d while \u201cJUMP\u201d had already been released in July 2025. The mini-album also includes work from several familiar and notable names. Teddy Park, who has helped shape many of BLACKPINK\u2019s biggest hits, contributed to the project. There are multiple reasons for what could be considered a lukewarm reception, even though BLACKPINK\u2019s fandom is still as strong as ever.<\/p>\n<p>The first factor to consider is the DEADLINE World Tour, which ended in January 2026. The tour was especially notable because it was described as the group\u2019s first all-stadium tour. However, the global run included only one new group song, \u201cJUMP,\u201d because the DEADLINE EP was released after the tour concluded. This might have affected the popularity of many tracks, as they were not performed to large stadium audiences.<\/p>\n<p>The second factor concerns the number of songs. After approximately four years without a group project, many BLACKPINK fans (also known as BLINKS) were expecting a full-length album, instead of a 5-track mini-album. In addition, YG\u2019s lackluster promotion for the album might have hurt the visibility of the new songs, since there were no events involving the BLACKPINK members reuniting or performing any of the new songs together.<\/p>\n<h2>What\u2019s next for BLACKPINK?<\/h2>\n<p>Following DEADLINE\u2019s release, recent comments from YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk suggested that BLACKPINK will not continue group promotions in 2026.
