The British people have always been curious about them, and even the former butlers have commented on the situation on a pair of occasions.<\/p>\n<p>The former royal butler Grant Harrold, who served King Charles III from 2004 to 2011, is debunking long-held myths about royal protocol. His Majesty once told me, \u2018When you bow or curtsy, you\u2019re doing it to the title, not the person.\u2019\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n        <\/figure>\n        \n<p>Grant Harrold has explained that guests should let them lead both the handshake and the conversation, noting that these exchanges are<strong> lighthearted<\/strong> and<strong> unpressured<\/strong>.
