The missing news has arrived!\u00a0The long-awaited live action of ”\u00a0The Little Mermaid<\/strong>\u00a0“, starring\u00a0Halle Bailey<\/strong>, of the duo Ch\u00f6e X Halle, has a date to hit theaters.\u00a0According to Variety, the film will open on May 26, 2023.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made this Friday, September 10, and, obviously, the date surprised the\u00a0public<\/strong>\u00a0and fans of singer Halle Bailey, who expected the film production to\u00a0premiere<\/strong>\u00a0long before the announced date.\u00a0After all, the\u00a0recordings<\/strong> ended in July of this year.\u00a0In this way, the film’s producers are leaving a gap of almost two years for the film’s release.<\/p>\n

In addition to Halle Bailey,\u00a0Melissa McCarthy will<\/strong>\u00a0also play the evil Ursula,\u00a0Jonah Hauer-King<\/strong>, who will play Prince Eric, and\u00a0Javier Bardem<\/strong>, responsible for bringing King Triton to life in live-action.\u00a0In other words, we are talking about a\u00a0quality\u00a0cast<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The live-action \u201cThe Little Mermaid\u201d will feature the\u00a0original\u00a0songs<\/strong>\u00a0from classic 1989 animation, but there will also be new compositions by the duo\u00a0Alan Menken<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Lin-Manuel Miranda<\/strong>. In mid-July, the protagonist of the film confirmed the end of the recordings with an emotional post.<\/p>\n

Halle Bailey, who is only 21, recalled when she\u00a0first\u00a0auditioned<\/strong>\u00a0for the production, when she had just turned 19, and how things have changed since then.\u00a0It is worth mentioning that the recordings of “The Little Mermaid” were interrupted by the worsening of the\u00a0Covid-19\u00a0pandemic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
