The then-prince\u2019s most important duty was becoming the Film Institute patronage in 1983 and he is still holding his position proudly.<\/p>\n<p>The British Film Institute preserves the Royal Collection of Film, the collection dates from 1931 and consists of more than 1000 individual reels.
