To avoid it, the Duke repressed all his affection and was cold to everyone.<\/p>\n<p>He confesses this in his book of memoirs, &#8216;<strong>Spare<\/strong>&#8216;, where he mentions, &#8220;<em>To see her tapping her foot, and swaying in time,<strong> I wanted to hug her, though of course I didn&#8217;t<\/strong>.
