This announcement sparked controversy among the K-Netizens because of the classification, fortunately, PLEDIS cleared the air and brought up the idol\u2019s military status. Here\u2019s what the company said:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\">\n        <blockquote><p>\u201cSouth Korea\u2019s conscription system says that men in Grade 5 are <strong>exempt<\/strong> from <strong>mandatory military service<\/strong> during peacetime. In the case of a war, they are required to perform labor in support of the military.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n        <\/figure>\n        \n<p>Now that SEVENTEEN\u2019s S.Coups is exempt from his mandatory military service, the announcement filled Carats with <strong>joy<\/strong>.
