The director of 'The WONDERfools' denies editing Cha Eunwoo's scenes

During ‘The WONDERfools‘ press conference, the director speaks out about Cha Eunwoo‘s tax evasion scandal, sharing his position and relationship with the actor.

Amid his military service, the media revealed that the idol used a shell company in his mother’s name to reduce his tax burden, leading him to issue a public apology and pay his debt and a fine, thus concluding the legal process.

During this controversy, the promotion of his new drama ‘The WONDERfools’ started, which marred its long-awaited launch on Netflix; now the director finally addressed the matter during the press conference of May 12.

The main actors Park Eun Bin, Choi Dae Hoon, Lim Sung Jae, Kim Hae Sook, Son Hyun Joo, Jung Yi Seo, Choi Yoon Ji, and Bae Na Ra were present at the event when the director Yoo In Sik was asked by the media if he edited Cha Eunwoo scenes after the controversy, and he answered:

“We became aware of the issue after the editing and post-production were already completed.”

“This project was my dream, and everyone worked hard for every second. We prioritized the overall completeness while editing and working on post-production.”

He finally asks for people’s understanding for his decisions and that the production is nothing related to the scandal: “Since this is a personal issue concerning the actor, I kindly ask for your understanding regarding my comments.”
