During a recent interaction with fans, Stray Kids‘ Bang Chan opened up about the abuses he suffered during his trainee period and his current opinions about this.
On April 11th, the rapper spoke with fans through his Bubble fan chat to reveal that it has been 15 years since he joined JYP Entertainment to become an idol; however, he didn’t know all the inconveniences and mistreatment he would face there.
“Was definitely surprised by the culture difference hahaha
I remember I got hit alot hahahahahaha
Used to get scolded alot for nothing hahaha”
Besides confessing he was shocked by the culture difference when he moved from Australia to South Korea to work on his career at 13, the physical and psychological abuse he suffered, he revealed that he didn’t tell his parents about these issues.
“Back then I didn’t even tell my parents
But I told them not too long ago and they were in tears
Saying that they’re sorry…
But still, I think I endured well haha”
Although remaining silent when suffering this kind of abuse shouldn’t be normalized, the idol seems to have overcome it and jokes about it, saying that he handled it well so that today he can enjoy the fruits of his hard work as the leader of the successful boy group Stray Kids.
