RIIZE’s Shotaro limits activities after suffering ankle injury

Shotaro suffers an injury that changes his promotional plans

Through a recent statement, RIIZE‘s agency announced Shotaro suffered an ankle injury, and despite this, he will continue his participation in the group activities, but it will be in a limited capacity.

On May 6th, SM Entertainment updated the boy group’s Weverse account with a new statement titled ‘[Notice] Information regarding Shotaro’s injury and schedule,’ revealing that the idol recently suffered an injury during overseas activities, which led him to the hospital.

“Following a detailed medical examination at the hospital, he was diagnosed with a torn ankle ligament. He is currently recovering while wearing a half-cast and receiving regular outpatient treatment.”

After conversation with Shotaro, they had decided that he will still attend the group scheduled events, including the May 8 Incheon National University festival, the May 10 Japan Kstyle Party, and the May 14 Sogang University and Soongsil University festivals, but “he will not perform any choreography.”

This decision was made “based on the medical team’s recommendation to rest and refrain from strenuous dancing, even though he is capable of carrying out daily activities,” and they concluded by asking for fans’ understanding and continued support for the artist’s recovery.
