The royal children’s love for gardening
Prince William has given royal fans another glimpse into family life with Princess Kate Middleton and their three children at Anmer Hall, the family’s Norfolk home. During a visit to the Apricot Centre in Dartington, Devon, on Thursday, the father of three spoke about the hobbies his children enjoy away from royal duties. While learning about regenerative farming and sustainable practices, the Prince of Wales discussed how Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have embraced gardening at home.

The Wales family grows their own produce
Rachel Phillips, managing director of the Apricot Centre, revealed that Prince William talked about the family’s small kitchen garden. According to Phillips, the children grow strawberries, raspberries, and lettuce at Anmer Hall. The prince even joked about how he had to stop the kids from eating the fruit and vegetables before they reached the kitchen. In addition, Princess Kate Middleton has previously talked about Louis growing broad beans at school and having potatoes planted in their own garden.
“He was quite impressed with our strawberries and was telling me in Norfolk his children grow strawberries, raspberries, and lettuce and have a small kitchen garden. He was asking me how we grew them, and we talked about how we stop our children eating them all.”
A family tradition shared across countries
The Wales children are not the only young royals learning about homegrown food. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who live in California with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, reportedly. Have a similar hobby. The Duchess of Sussex previously said her children grow vegetables at home and even created a small farmer’s market stand.
