King Charles III landed on American soil on Monday, April 27, to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, along with President Donald Trump. The historic visit comes amid moments of tension between the nations over the recent events in the world, meaning they are managing to solve the riddles of their differences.
On April 28, the Monarch of the United Kingdom gave a historic speech to Congress, addressing a joint meeting of Congress, marking the second time a British monarch has done so. The King was warmly welcomed in the chamber, despite he pushed back on several issues that Trump has sparred with Britain over in recent months.

The King also wanted to address the “reconciliation and renewal” that he said characterised the centuries of interactions between the two nations, a theme he returned to later at the White House state banquet. This speech became a historic moment for both nations as it became the first royal address to Congress since Queen Elizabeth II spoke at the Capitol in 1991.
The King is set to visit New York on April 29 as the city is heightening the city’s security. This visit comes as the second leg of their four-day state visit, following a day of carefully choreographed royal diplomacy in the nation’s capital.
