According to The Mail’s Richard Jobson, a courtier who revealed this cute detail about their relationship, Kate Middleton calls King Charles lll “Grandpa.” In response, the monarch calls her “Beloved daughter-in-law” and “Darling daughter-in-law.”

According to HELLO! Magazine, they’ve grown closer over the years, especially after their respective cancer diagnoses and treatments. It has been reported that they’ve been supporting each other during their health struggles, with King Charles lll visiting Kate Middleton at her bedside when they were both at the London Clinic and sharing a private lunch with her in Windsor the day before she publicly announced her diagnosis in March.

Robert Hardman, author of “Charles III,” explained that this pair have a deep concern for each other, emphasizing that the King is committed to supporting his daughter-in-law as much as possible. He allegedly recognizes the unique challenges she faces as a young, fit mother battling cancer.

“I think it cannot but have brought them even closer together. He’s always had a huge regard for his daughter-in-law. He thinks she’s just wonderful.”
