During her recent public appearance, Kate Middleton speaks candidly about the film that made her cry at the 2026 BAFTAs, making her return to the ceremony memorable after years of absence.
On Sunday, February 22nd, the prince and princess of Wales attended the awards ceremony looking happy to enjoy this night with matching burgundy outfits despite the hard time of the royalty after ex-prince Andrew’s arrest.
Kate Middleton had a conversation with Emily Stillman, president of the Bafta Film Committee, and others with members of the academy, where she wanted to share her opinion on ‘Hamnet,’ the adaptation of the award-winning novel by Maggie O’Farrell.
According to the princess of Wales, she watched the movie starring Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley, which chronicles the family life of the author William Shakespeare, but she confessed, “Yes, I think it was a very bad idea, honestly… I ended up with very swollen eyes.”
The royal added that ‘Hamnet’ was a “very, very powerful” movie and also described it as “fantastic” and “raw,” characteristics that would also help it to become one of the bigger winners of the night, taking home the most important awards of the ceremony.
