Justin Bieber is reportedly being considered for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show alongside Madonna, BTS, and Shakira

Discussions are reportedly taking place

Justin Bieber is reportedly in discussions to perform during the halftime show at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final. According to NME, talks about his potential appearance have taken place,  adding the Canadian pop star to a lineup that already includes big names such as Madonna, Shakira and BTS. The event is scheduled for July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which will temporarily change its name to New York New Jersey Stadium for the soccer tournament.

The “Daisies” singer has already attended the event, appearing with his wife, Hailey Bieber, at the  FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Inglewood, California, in June 2026. On the same day, he also gave a surprise performance for a small group of VIP guests, which quickly ignited more speculation about his future live appearances in the World Cup.

Bieber has returned to the stage in unusual ways

Since the start of 2026, Justin Bieber has made several live singing appearances. He performed at the Grammy Awards wearing only boxers and socks while playing an electric guitar, and he later headlined Coachella, performing tracks from the SWAG and SWAG II albums as well as a YouTube segment featuring his older hits. The performances felt stripped-back and unconventional, but they reminded Beliebers (Justin Bieber fans) that he is still interested in performing live. With these appearances,  signs that the “Sorry” hitmaker was preparing for a major tour started swirling around on social media. However, TMZ reported that sources close to Justin said he prefers performing in smaller doses rather than committing to a full tour schedule.

A World Cup appearance would fit his current approach

A halftime performance at the FIFA World Cup Final would allow the songwriter to appear on one of the world’s biggest stages without recalling his lengthy touring days of the past. That seems to match the approach described by sources close to the artist, who say he enjoys performing occasionally while maintaining a more flexible schedule. Justin Bieber has also been releasing live recordings from his recent live appearances. After dropping Swag Live From Coachella (Weekend I) on June 26, 2026, he followed up with a live album from Coachella’s second weekend on July 3, 2026.
