The 10-episode show will premiere on July 23, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET on HBO Max. Then, more episodes will arrive on a weekly basis. The plot follows comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, played by Sussman, who accidentally damages a device created by Sheldon and Leonard. His error provokes a multiverse disaster, and Stuart must try to restore reality before things get worse.

Stuart is joined by his girlfriend Denise, played by Lapkus, his geologist friend Bert, played by Posehn, and quantum physicist Barry Kripke, played by Bowie. The trio also meets alternate versions of popular characters from the Big Bang Theory original series. The show was created by Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady, and it marks the fourth show in the franchise. The original Big Bang Theory series ran for 12 seasons. Meanwhile, the prequel, Young Sheldon, ended in May 2024, and a spin-off of that show, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, debuted on October 17, 2024.
